Second-annual Cruisin for the Kids car show in downtown Grayslake benefiting the local youth center. They doubled their attendance from last year and plan to expand next year, this is one of my favorite car shows. Unfortunately I didnt film a whole lot in the afternoon so I missed a bunch of real awesome cars, such as a 63 Stingray, Pontiac 2+2, and a nice Skylark. My Fiero won third place in the 1980s class! Special Thanks to the Village of Grayslake and The Oasis Grayslake Youth Center for …

nice vid jon, i used to live in grayslake when i was younger, doesnt seem like it has changed much since i was last there 10+ yrs ago. good to see dog n suds is still around, I miss that place, their root beer and burgers are to die for!! If your ever in the Kenosha area ever, check out some of our car shows, especially the downtown one. It covers all of downtown which is like 3 or 4 blocks long north to south and bout 2 blocks long on one east west street. All of which is full of cars!!
I tried putting the URL for Cruisin’ Grand on here but YouTube ***** goat **** so just type Cruisin’ Grand into Google. The first link SHOULD be The Downtown Business Association of Escondido.
I worked security there one summer. I still have pictures that I took. Found a REALLY cool(and heartwarming)story about a 91 year old woman with a ‘64 Mercury Comet Caliente. 560,000 miles. autos[.]aol[.]com[/]article[/]rachel[-]veitch[-]old[-]car
They do something like that in Gurnee at the Nostalgia McDonalds near Gurnee Mills. I’m going to film that one today since the weather is supposed to be gorgeous and it will be packed.
Good to see hear about D’n'S still being popular. I STILL love that place. I noticed that there were quite a few newer classics. I’m not going to say they don’t belong but…..they don’t belong….lol. Lovin’ the vids man. Maybe someday I’ll buy a nice video camera and film Cruisin’ Grand in Escondido,CA for ya. Every Friday from I think April to November perhaps they have a shitload of classics that park in Old Esco. Pretty cool stuff.
Dog n Suds is still very popular around here. Thanks for the comment!
LOVE that opening to your videos Jon. **** makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. The Caddy looked shweet but kind of like a turd in a punch bowl. I thought Dog’n'Suds was kaput. O_o The red Chevelle @ 2:11 gave me a woody.
The video froze up on me halfway through so I’ll watch the other half later tonight.
